Something we all have to do from time to time

This is a painting i call "Capital 10K", for the big race Austin has every year.

And I have noticed that I need to edit my posts for spelling, grammar, etc. I jsut havn't figured out how to go back and do that.

But I do want you to know that english is the one subject I always made a's in. And spelling always came easy for me.

THe problem is my fingers fly when I type and then hit "publish post" before they give me a chance to look and actually SEE what I wrote.

It's a conspiracy of fingers over mind. And fingers always win

I am calling this painting "Me and My Conscience". i am one of these people that are quick to perceive myself as at fault. I'm always guilty!

MEET MY BROTHERS

This is one of the paintings I'll have at the Dutch Gallery in Dalla sNov 1 thru January 2nd. The reception for the artists is on Sat Nov 6th. Hope all my friendsvin the Dallas area can come to that.

The Spear Chunker

I just finished a family phase and painted one of me with my 2 sons,--- called "me and my boys", one of my son Will's family, which I'm thinking about naming, "she's outnumbered"

and one of my son Roy who is the spear chnker in our family

I am so excited that Nancy Standlee, one of my real art heroes, is going to give 2 bakc to back classes here on the art of the journal. You have GOT to look at her blog page

We had orginally planned on giving one class, with a limit of 8 students on July 23 - 25. But after sending out the information, it lookslike that will fill so fast that I've talked Nancy into giving another class July 19 - 21.

The cost for either of these classes is very affordable at $225.00 plus the cost of lodging.

and I love it! A friend of mine, Connie Michaels, gave me the idea when she mentioned that a friend of hers had a daughter getting married in pink cowboy boots!!!!! I thought, "if I ever get married again, I'm wearing pink cowboy boots!" And thus the painting began

Judy Crowe is teaching a 3 day class May 18 - 20. The wildflowers are stunning right now, and the cactus will most likely be in full bloom.

So, ok. Maybe I'm having trouble downloading more than one painting at a time.

That's ok with me. I'm into a "let's chill out and go with the flow" mode.

Thats so much better than obssessing with every little detail.

The Bunkhouse is all ready to go for Vickiy McMurry's class and so I have the day to enjoy!

And these wildflowers on the ranch are amazing right now. It's so hard to believe that we wree in such an awful drought last year. Our creek has never gone dry, but last summer, it very nearly did.

3 New Paintings

I am posting 3 new paintings that are 20 x 24. I havn't decided on a name yet.

I have been so busy with the Bunkhouse workshops, that I have't kept up with my facebook, or my blog. But am trying to be a better person here, and get some of this updated.

Vicki McMurry is giving a 3 day class starting tomorrow. She's been coming here for years and is a wonderful teacher.

The next class will be May 5 - 7 with Qiang Hang and his class is full, with a wait list. I havn't met him yet, but have only heard really great things about him.

Then Judy Crowe will be doing a 3 day class starting may 18. I do still have room for more students. This class will probably be a combination of plain air and studio.

gigantic wonderful art show

Hey, on March 6 and 7---this very weekend, The Bunkhouse Gang is hosting a huge art show. Its going to be fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!! I think this is our most beautiful show yet and we've had some seriously beautiful shows.

i'm going to includ part of our show invitation. But there is so much more to see than these paintings. We've got everything from some really wonderful western paintings, to abstracts. We have pottery, sculpture, and jewelry.

and the weather is going to have to be perfect!!!!!!!!! Cause we're not putting up with less than perfect for our show.

I have fidnished several small paintings and one larger one. I'm really busywith workshops right now. Which is a good thing

On jan 27 - 28, we are having another fabulous Carol Marine workshop. This is a rescheduled class. We were supposed to have it this week, but poor Carol got sick!

So I am doubly excited about getting to do this again. I almost feel sorry for anyone who does not get the chance to learn from her. I'll try to upload one of her paintings! I'm not sure of the name of this little 6 x 6 painting of a spoon and apple, but isn't it wonderful?????????

From one Carol Marine class to another

We jsut spent an incredible 3 days taking a workshop from carol Marine!!!! She is so gifted and expresses herself so well, that I jsut can't wait for her to come again NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How lucky is that? Everyone loved the class and learned so much

Carol is so giving. It makes me feel sorry for anyone who is not a student of hers
